Kara Ayers, PhD (she/hers) is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Ayers directs the National Center for Dignity in Healthcare and Community Living for People with Disabilities. She is Associate Director of the University of Cincinnati Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. Her research interests include health equity, disability culture, parenting with a disability, and media representations of disability. Dr. Ayers infuses the mantra, "Nothing about us without us," into her scholarly and community-based endeavors.
