Lynette Hammond Gerido, PhD, MPH, MBA (pronounced JARED-O) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Gerido brings a unique interdisciplinary background to bioethics, having completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and earned advanced degrees in information science (PhD, Florida State University), public health (MPH, Drexel University), and business administration (MBA, George Washington University).
Gerido's research embeds bioethical frameworks into the development and application of trustworthy medical technologies, clinical informatics, data science, and health communications. She partners closely with communities in projects to inform clinical practice, technological design, and policy development, employing mixed methods approaches and leveraging population-level data to visualize trends and explore ethical implications.
At the ASBH Annual Conference, Dr. Gerido will present "Partnering with Home-Based Health Workers to Improve Equity in Newborn Screening: A PCORI-Guided Approach," exemplifying her commitment to community-engaged research and health equity. Her work represents the intersection of technology, ethics, and community health in our increasingly digital healthcare landscape.
