Bob Macauley has been the Cambia Health Foundation Endowed Chair in Pediatric Palliative Care at OHSU since 2017. Prior to that he spent 15 years on the faculty at the University of Vermont, where he directed the Department of Clinical Ethics and founded the Pediatric Advanced Care Team. Also an Episcopal priest, he holds graduate degrees in theology for Oxford and Yale. He is the author of the comprehensive textbook "Ethics in Palliative Care: A complete guide" (Oxford University Press, 2018) and the memoir "Because I Knew You: How some remarkable sick kids healed a doctor's soul" (Chehalem Press, 2025).
