Nancy A. Marlin, Ph.D., is Professor and Provost Emerita of San Diego State University and she is the grateful recipient of a pre-emptive kidney transplant from a living donor. Beyond her work in higher education, she is a member of the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) Living Donor Committee, the OPTN Ad hoc International Relations Subcommittee: Barriers Related to the Evalustion and Follow-Up of International Living Donors, and the American Society of Transplantation Living Donor Community of Practice, Controversies Conference on Paired Exchange to Expalnd Living Donor Transplantation. In related community service, Marlin developed and teaches a monthly class at her transplant center, and occassionally for a dialysis group, on "How to Find a LIving Donor," has been an invited presenter for the National Kidney Foundation, the Polycystic Kidney Foundation, End Stage Renal Disease Network 18 and she is on the steering committee of the Transplant Recipient and Immunocompromised Patients Advocacy Group.
