Fellowship in Kidney Transplantation at the University of Southern California and Fellowship in Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh under Dr. Thomas Starzl. Founded and headed two liver transplant programs at the University of New Mexico and Tampa General Hospital of the University of South Florida. Master of Science in Healthcare Ethics at Creighton University School of Medicine. Currently Chief of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Co Chair of the Ethics Resource Committee at Los Angeles General Medical Center.
Clinical Professor of Surgery at Keck School of Medicine at USC.
Has published over 70 original articles on Liver transplantation, Organ procurement, and transplantation ethics. Editor of Ethics section of Current Opinons in Transplantation.
