Lauren Honan is an Ethicist with the Regional Ethics Program at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga, ON, Canada. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Western University and a Master of Health Sciences in Bioethics from the University of Toronto, where she cultivated a special interest in the ethics of women’s health, reproductive health, and health equity. She has been involved in collaborative learning through quality improvement initiatives in the NICU at Sinai Health and national workshops on core outcomes in clinical ethics consultation. Lauren is a Hazel McCallion Quality Award winner in Patient Experience for her work on Embedding Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Anti-Oppression Principles and Considerations into THP’s IDEA Ethical Decision-Making Framework. In 2024, Lauren led a poster presentation on the Role of Substitute Consent for Sexual Assault Evidence Kits for Incapable Persons at the International Conference on Clinical Ethics and Consultation & Canadian Bioethics Society. Lauren also delivers bioethics curriculum at The University of Toronto's Mississauga Academy of Medicine and maintains an active clinical ethics practice.
