Dr. Marion Russell (she/her/hers) is an associate professor in the Occupational Therapy program at Creighton University and former director of the Post-Professional Occupational Doctorate Program. She has taught mental health and ethics courses in the Entry and Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy Programs. Dr. Russell has presented nationally and internationally on topics concerning health disparities of transgender individuals, ethics education, and topics related to enteral feeding. Her scholarly work focuses on rural families with children with type 1 diabetes, the impact of enteral feeding on family mealtime routine, and education and advocacy to combat healthcare disparities experienced by members of the transgender population. The overarching goal of this work is to contribute to occupational therapy as a field and enhance the interprofessional approach in health care delivery and scholarship. Building on those foundations, she was awarded the AOTF Intervention Research Grant, investigating the impact of COVID-19 on families with children with type 1 diabetes.
